Update from Lod with Shmuel Shattach and Anshe Sholom B’nai Israel Congregation

Learn from him about his community in Lod and his perspective on what took place there last week as well as how Torah v’Avodah is responding to the challenges facing Israel today.
Shmuel Shattach is the Executive Director of Ne’emanei Torah Va’Avodah. Mr. Shattach, a social activist, was selected as one of the 50 most influential people in Israel twice, and won numerous prizes that acknowledge his public work for promoting pluralistic religious education in Israel. Mr. Shattach is an expert in the field of public management and education. He worked as Rabbi-Teacher and as Vice Principal, in Amit Technological High School, near Bar-Ilan University. He previously served as an envoy (Shaliach) for the Chicago Jewish community and as a parliamentary aid in the Knesset. He lives in Lod with his wife and six children.
Ne’emanei Torah Va’Avodah, a religious-Zionist movement that seeks to return Religious Zionism to its roots, works to create a thinking religious culture that is open and self-critical, and encourages a courageous halakhic discourse that deals with the challenges of contemporary times. Its orientation aims to promote the values of tolerance, equality, and justice in religious society, and to have a real influence on the Jewish-democratic character of Israeli society.
