Sacred Spaces Training: Interactions, Operations, and Physical Space

Sunday, December 8, 2019 10 Kislev 5780

5:00 PM - 8:00 PMChicago Loop Synagogue, 16 S. Clark

Trainers: Shira Berkovits

The third in a series of five Sacred Synagogues trainings in Metro Chicago, this session will address the basics of safety and respect in the day-to-day operations and programming of synagogues.

Topics will include the physical features of the synagogue building, boundary-setting and codes of conduct for interactions between staff-staff, staff-funders, staff-congregants, and congregants-congregants, as well as other protective measures. Participants will leave this session with a stronger understanding of how best practices for abuse prevention can be incorporated into daily synagogue life.

While the content of this training (and the subsequent two trainings) will focus on the synagogue context, much of the information presented will be relevant to Jewish institutions in general. If you are a professional or lay leader working at a Jewish organization in the Chicago metropolitan area, we invite you to join us for this session as well as those that follow.

If you plan to attend, please RSVP by calling (312) 346-7370 or by clicking here.
