Lunch & Learn: Bravery and Grit: The Big Red One in World War II with Illinois Holocaust Museum

With 16 Medal of Honor recipients, the 1st Division ended World War II with a record unequaled by any other American division. Join U.S. Army Colonel (Ret.) Krewasky A. Salter, Executive Director of First Division Museum at Cantigny, as he chronicles the 1st Infantry Division’s legendary military involvement from the Battle of the Bulge to the occupation of Germany.

The talk will focus on the 1st Infantry Division’s participation in culminating battles of WWII, the Nuremberg trials, and liberating Nazi labor camps. He will also tell remarkable stories from the brave commanders, leaders, and soldiers who wear the shoulder patch bearing "The Big Red One."
